The Day Of (“we,” “us,” “our”) operates Herald, a platform that helps event hosts (such as couples planning a wedding) send SMS notifications to their guests.
Information We Collect
When an event host uses Herald, they may provide us with contact information for their guests, including names and phone numbers, for the purpose of sending event-related notifications.
How We Use Your Information
We use guest phone numbers solely to deliver SMS messages related to the specific event the guest has been invited to, as directed by the event host. This may include logistics updates, schedule reminders, and other day-of event information.
How Guests Confirm Consent
When a host adds a guest's phone number to Herald, we do not send that guest any event content right away. Instead, we send a one-time SMS identifying the event host and asking the guest to reply YES to confirm they want to receive event text updates. Only guests who reply YES are enrolled in further messages. Guests who do not respond, or who reply STOP, are never sent additional messages.
Message Frequency
Message frequency varies by event and is determined by the event host. Guests may receive periodic messages in the weeks or days leading up to an event, and additional messages during the event itself.
We Do Not Sell or Share Your Mobile Number
We do not sell, rent, or share mobile phone numbers with third parties for marketing purposes. Mobile opt-in information and phone numbers are not shared with any third party for their own marketing purposes.
Message and Data Rates
Message and data rates may apply. Contact your mobile carrier for details on your messaging plan.
Opting Out
Recipients may opt out of receiving messages at any time by replying STOP to any message. Reply HELP for assistance.
Data Retention
Guest contact information is retained for the duration of the associated event and a reasonable period afterward, and may be deleted by the event host at their discretion.
